This former General Store (built in 1905) was renovated into its current state as a cottage in 1981. It is now considered one of the prime rental properties in Bayside. Entering the cottage you are greeted by comfortable furnishings, original artwork, a well equipped kitchen and a full bath. At the rear of the cottage through the screen door to the outside is a cozy deck with seating, a small table, and gas grill. The deck faces the ocean with wonderful water views and views of all the Bayside activity. Upstairs are two comfortable, bright queen bedrooms, one with beautiful water views: the master bedroom includes a new (for 2020), ensuite bath with large tiled shower; there is also a shared bathroom (with new, enlarged tile shower for 2020) with laundry, and on the third floor two bright, cozy bedrooms with skylights, each with two twin beds. LINENS & TOWELS: The rental of this property includes all bed linens and towels. Beds will be made up upon arrival and there will be one bath towel and wash cloth per listed occupancy, two hand towels per bathroom, one bath mat per full bathroom, and two kitchen towels in the kitchen. Additional bath towels can be rented.
SECURITY DEPOSIT: No, the owner of this property does not require a security deposit, however, guests are still financially responsible for non-accidental damages at the property.

Besides the location and the deck, probably the AC in the bedroom were our favorite features. We only used the split ductless on the 1st floor once, after we had used the oven, but it was nice to know it was there.

The best feature was the community/neighborhood. Everyone was nice and friendly. The property worked well having the kids on the 3rd floor. We visited Belfast most often but Camden, Lincolnville, Rockport as well. Our boat trip was cancelled but we got out on the water later in Bar Harbor. We were there over July 4th. Thanks!

For the most part we enjoyed our stay@ AC Hopkins. However we experienced a not so favorable experience with a resident that lives in the cottage below the rental. He was brash, and verbally abusive towards me, I will not be renting this cottage again after renting for a few years a row. I am aware that parking is an issue on the street in front of the cottage. As this being a rental, and we are tourist, and we have contribute money to the local economy for years, I was very offended as my safety was threatened by "Harry" the guy that lives below the cottage.
As well there needs to be something done about the WiFi connection for this cottage. I know that it is vacation but the Wifi was sub standard and needs to be improved. As an independent business person, even on vacation I need to have access to good dependable wifi. I am pretty sure nothing can be done regarding the neighbor as he is a bully, but the Wifi needs to be addressed. If anyone from OTWM would like to discuss please feel free to contact me.

A.C. Hopkins is beautifully restored--really lovely, comfortable, and light. Sweet touches everywhere from bathroom tiles to woodwork to artwork, including many by the owner. I especially appreciated the master bedroom, which is spacious and light with a view of the ocean.

AC Hopkins is the old general store and the interior of the house reflects that. The kitchen is beautifully equipped for the cook or baker. The upper floor bedrooms have the nicer views of the water. Unfortunately, the main floor waterfiews are obstructed by the neighbor's large tree. We expected and desired a better waterview. The house is near the town commons which is quintessential Maine beauty with a small harbor with a swimming dock and sailboats. There's also a playground and basketball courts. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Nice cottage, great location. We had a wonderful stay. Beautiful artwork throughout. Neat, clean, love the drawer labels and the abundance of cooking utensils. Room air conditioners are a very nice feature even though we didn't need them. Fans in all the rooms were enough. Perfect for a family of 5 or more. Only drawback is the water view is blocked by large evergreens out back. Do whatever it takes to get those removed and the view will be spectacular.

Great location, for starters. Bayside is a family-centric village; our daughter had no problem finding friends. Northport is close to Belfast, Camden, Lockport, and Rockland. We drove to one or the other, every day, to buy fresh oysters (we had oysters from the Weskeag River, Pemaquid, John's River, etc.... half the fun is tasting them, to see what the differences are!), fish, or lobster. The house itself, AC Hopkins, is gorgeous: it has tasteful artwork by the owner, comfortable furnishings, and a well-equipped (best we've seen yet, and we're foodies) kitchen. We loved the layout of the first floor, and, as a bonus, we could see both the playground and the water from the deck.
