As you enter the home, you will be in the large, deluxe kitchen equipped with all new appliances and amenities to cook up a feast. Folks can sit at the counter or in the comfortable chairs to converse with those preparing and/or sit at the dining table to play cards. Around the corner is the living room set up with ample seating and a new, large, flat screen Smart TV for an evening movie and a convenient half bath. On the other side of the staircase is a room with a day bed, TV, and a full laundry room off of that.
Up the stairs, you will find a king bedroom with flat screen Smart TV, as well as, a sitting area to read a book or relax. There is also a queen bedroom and bedroom with two twins. Between them is a hall bathroom with custom tiled shower/tub combo. All of the bedrooms have an window air-conditioning unit to cool you down and make it very comfortable to sleep.
This beautiful home has a large, flat open yard and beautifully landscaped gardens surrounding it for peaceful enjoyment. Head north and enjoy the happening town life that the adjoining towns of Rockland, Rockport and Camden have to offer. Head south and experience "the way life used to be" in Owls Head, Thomaston, Spruce Head, and Tenants Harbor.
Outside there is a comfortable back deck to watch the sunset after a day of exploring the lighthouse and/or many public beaches within a mile of the house.
Close by attractions include Owls Head Light State Park or the Owls Head Transportation Museum. With downtown Rockland a short ride away, you can enjoy the Farnsworth Museum, wonderful art galleries, interesting shopping and art museums, plentiful restaurants, golf courses, as well as the museum at the end of the Breakwater inside the Rockland Light, which is still in operation.

BOATS INCLUDED? None, however SUP & Kayak Rentals are available in Port Clyde at Port Clyde Kayaks 20 minutes south, or from Maine Sport, 20 minutes north in Rockport. Both deliver to the property. Sometimes, if the order is big, Ducktrap Kayaks will deliver as well to this property.
LINENS & TOWELS: The rental of this property includes all bed linens and towels. Beds will be made up upon arrival and there will be one bath towel and wash cloth per listed occupancy, two hand towels per bathroom, one bath mat per full bathroom, and two kitchen towels in the kitchen. Additional bath towels can be rented.
SECURITY DEPOSIT: No, the owner of this property does not require a security deposit, however, guests are still financially responsible for non-accidental damages at the property.

Golden Owl is an excellent property and probably one of the best appointed houses we have ever rented. It is extremely close to downtown Rockland and makes it very easy to enjoy the activities in the Rockland/Camden/Rockport area.

I booked at the last minute and the process was very smooth. When we arrived at Golden Owl, we had difficulty connecting to the Wi-Fi and the representative I spoke to on the phone, was very pleasant and helpful.

Our stay was very comfortable for the four of us. The house is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated. My daughter and I are Pottery Barn fans and had fun spotting PB items! Favorite features... view through the Master Bedroom's windows, the well designed and stocked kitchen, big upstairs bathroom, quick access to Rockland. The house was extremely clean and had lovely dcor and detailed design features. Our next trip to Maine, the whole family is coming and we will need a bigger house. Otherwise we would stay at Golden Owl again.

The Golden Owl was a total delight to stay in. We spent incredible evenings having a glass of wine and watching the sun set over the water on the relaxing back deck. Our favorite feature of the property was the stunning gardens the landscaping, flowers and gardens are meticulously kept and cared for and it was fun to walk around and admire the different flowers in season. Having perfect weather helped too.
